Make time for yourself.

Welcome! Do you sometimes feel that you not only have a full plate but rather a full platter? I strive to provide clients with a supportive environment to navigate life’s ups and downs and develop effective coping skills to manage it all.

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor and have been in private practice since 2006.

I use a client- centered approach to therapy which focuses on the client's strengths and resources to achieve their goals in a non judgmental and accepting environment. I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy interventions when needed to achieve client goals.

In 2001, I earned my Master of Arts degree in Counselor Education from Wake Forest University.  I received certification as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) in 2001.  I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina, and have held my license since March 4, 2005.

In July 2012, I completed a course to earn my credential as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor which I received in December 2012. As a clinical supervisor, my role is to help you develop skills to become a competent clinician while completing the hours necessary for licensure.  I view the supervision process as developmental in nature believing that supervisees gain competence as they move through the supervision process.  If you are interested in Clinical Supervision, please contact me!

I have a strong interest in working with mothers through their journey from pregnancy to motherhood. I hope to help clients with navigating the transitions that occur with becoming a parent, the impact it has on relationships, and the importance of self care along the way. I have completed certification courses in Perinatal Mood Disorders and Maternal Mental Health with focus on Postpartum Depression and Anxiety. I am a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International.

Prior to staring my private practice, I worked for agencies and nonprofit organizations providing grief and loss therapy as well as working with clients coping with general anxiety and depression.

In 2018 I completed training to become a Board Certified - TeleMental Health Provider. I currenlty offer both in person and telehealth appointments.

In addition to my counseling work with clients, I am excited to launch a new venture into the world of consulting. In my work with the perinatal community over the years, I have learned of gaps in how clients who experience postpartum depression or anxiety, or perinatal loss are supported by others on their care team. My goal is to help close those gaps by providing education and support to those in other fields, such as physicians and nurses, as well as family members to support women in the way they need during these challenging times.
